Women's Golf Plays 9 in Opener

WILMINGTON, Del. – Battling slow play and fading daylight, the Ursinus College women's golf team opened its season with a half-round of action at the Neumann/Swarthmore Fall Invitational.

Able to play only nine holes, the Bears finished in third place in the team standings with a 206 at Rock Manor Golf Club. Muhlenberg tallied a 179 and Arcadia was runner-up with a 202. Cabrini took fourth at 226.

Senior Emily McGarrigle was in second place on the individual leaderboard at the conclusion pf play, shooting a 42 to land one stroke back of Muhlenberg's Aine Filler. The Mules placed two other golfers in the top four in Kat Hodges (43) and Emma Mueller (46).

Three Bears made their collegiate debuts. First-year Jessica Lamarca completed the nine holes in 50 strokes, and sophomore Addisen Miller totaled 54. Freshman Carolyn DeCicco shot 60.

Junior Alissa DiGuglielmo shot 89 for Ursinus.

The women's golf team hosts its fall invitational on Monday, September 24 at Raven's Claw Golf Club.
