LANCASTER, Pa. – Sophomore Emily McGarrigle of the Ursinus College women's golf team has been selected as the Centennial Conference Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday afternoon.
McGarrigle led the way with an 85 as the Bears claimed the team championship at their home invitational last week, placing 6th overall in a field of 50 on a challenging course at Raven's Claw Golf Club.
It was the second consecutive round of 85 for McGarrigle, who carded the same score at the season-opening McDaniel Fall Invitational.
The Golfer of the Week nod is the first for McGarrigle, who is one of three Bears averaging 87 strokes or less through the first two events of the new campaign; fellow sophomores Rebecca Chiger (84.0) and Matison Leand (87.0) are also on that list.
Ursinus will host the fall edition of the annual Revolutionary Collegiate Classic from October 15-16 at Patriots Glen in Elkton, Maryland.
