ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's golf team turned in a strong performance at Saturday's Gettysburg Spring Invitational, placing second among seven full squads with a score of 371.

The Bears finished ahead of two Centennial Conference teams and posted their second-best score of the season, behind only the 355 they tallied at their fall invitational on September 22.

All four Ursinus golfers finished within the top 18 and ties in a field of 43 individuals on the par-72, 5841-yard Hanover Country Club. The Bears were led by an 18-over 90 from freshman Rebecca Chiger, who tied for eighth overall.

Freshman Emily McGarrigle fired a 92 to place 11th, and fellow rookie Matison Leand was right behind with a 93 (T-12th). Sophomore Sara Thompson rounded out Ursinus' scoring with a 96 (T-18th).

Senior Rebecca Honor shot a 102, senior Julia Senkevich posted a 105, and sophomore Shelby Bryant logged a 126.

Sunday's Franklin & Marshall Spring Invitational was cancelled, but the Bears are scheduled to take their swings in the Muhlenberg Invitational on Monday at Lehigh Country Club.
