Gibbs Breaks Record, Paces Ursinus at Alvernia Invitational

READING, Pa. – Ursinus College senior women's golfer Hilary Gibbs (San Diego, Calif./Coronado) had quite a day at Reading Country Club on Monday at the Alvernia Invitational.

Not only did she shoot the Bears best score of the day, but made some history as well as she set the new school mark of 89 on a very difficult course.  She beat her personal best, which she set at 2012 Conference Championships, by an amazing 14 strokes. She also finished tied for 8th in a field of over 50 players.  Gibbs has been improving by leaps and bounds since the fall of 2011.  As late as the spring of 2012 she carded a 129…she bested that by 40 strokes.

Senior Captain Ryan Feeney (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) overcame an eight and an eleven on her last few holes and posted her second best round of her collegiate career at 104.

Freshman Rebecca Honor (Garnerville, N.JY./Albertus Magnus), who posted low team score at the Pocono Intercollegiate, shot 110.  Senior Allie Minning (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) also played to round out the team scoring.
