COLLEGEVILLE – The Ursinus Women's Basketball team announced a change to its schedule on Sunday afternoon. The team will now be facing Penn at The Palestra on Thursday, December 30th at 1 p.m.
Ursinus was offered the opportunity to face the Quakers after their upcoming contest on Thursday at Morgan State was canceled due to the Bears shutting down athletic activities for health and safety protocols. Ursinus was originally scheduled to face Alvernia on the road on the same date.
The Bears last faced the Quakers back in 1983 at the Palestra with Penn winning the contest, 89-63. The Quakers hold a 5-3 in the all-time series with Ursinus after the Bears won the first three meetings back in the 1970's.
The Ursinus women's basketball team is no stranger to playing in the Palestra as they last played at the "Cathedral of College Basketball" back on January 14th, 2018 in a Centennial Conference match against Gettysburg.
