Bears Fall to Albright at Home

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Ursinus College women's basketball team suffered a 71-46 loss to Albright College on Wednesday night in Helfferich Hall.

The Lions jumped out early grabbing a 15-12 lead after one quarter, as forward Gabby Boggs carried Albright with 8 points on 4-4 from the field.  Alison Lisanti kept the Bears alive in the first quarter scoring 5 points in 6 minutes of action.

Albright took advantage in the second quarter shooting 58% while hitting three of their five 3-point attempts. The Lions' defense forced eight turnovers for the Bears in the second quarter and carried the momentum as they outscored Ursinus 17-6 in the second quarter.

In the third quarter, Kylie McNicholas scored 7 points, but the Bears were unable to capitalize, as the Lions continued to roll scoring 21 points in the quarter. Maggie O'Hare carried the Lions offense in the 3rd quarter scoring 7 of her 15 points. In the fourth, the Bears defense came alive forcing 6 turnovers, but the deficit was too large as Ursinus dropped their second consecutive game.

The Bears were led by Freshman Chinwe Irondi who scored 10 points with 8 rebounds and 2 assists.

Ursinus will look to bounce back next Saturday as they will host conference foe Swarthmore at 1:00PM.
