Konstanzer Named CC Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. – Ursinus College women's basketball star Lydia Konstanzer was named Centennial Conference player of the week on Tuesday following a pair of huge performances in back-to-back victories.

Konstanzer was an unstoppable force as the Bears stretched their winning streak to three with resounding wins over Swarthmore and McDaniel, averaging 26.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. The senior co-captain put up 26 points, seven rebounds, and three steals as Ursinus downed the Garnet, 68-57, on Wednesday before going off for 27 points, nine boards, and three blocks in a 79-64 defeat of McDaniel on Saturday.

Konstanzer had been held to single digits against both Haverford and Bryn Mawr prior, but her latest explosion was enough to move her into fifth place on the program's all-time scoring list with 1,329 career points. She is 42 away from Jessica Porada '16 in fourth, and her 766 career rebounds are good for eighth on the school charts.

Konstanzer ranks second in the CC in scoring at 16.5 points per game. She is fourth in rebounding (7.9 RPG) and eighth in both steals (14) and field-goal percentage (51.4). Konstanzer is a conference player of the week honoree for the fourth time in her career.
