Konstanzer Earns Second CC Player of the Week Nod

LANCASTER, Pa. – For the second time this season, Ursinus College freshman Lydia Konstanzer has been named the Centennial Conference Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday. She shared the award with Ali Grundy of Washington College.

Konstanzer made the most of the Bears' lone outing, exploding for 26 points and a career-high 15 rebounds in Saturday's 58-44 victory over Johns Hopkins. The rookie finished 10 of 20 from the floor and 6 of 7 at the line, scoring 16 points in the second half to help the Bears (6-6, 4-3) pull away for a critical conference win. She added three assists and three steals to her stat line.

Konstanzer has been on a tear since joining the starting lineup five games ago, accumulating 20.0 points and 9.1 rebounds per game over that stretch. Konstanzer, who leads all CC freshmen in scoring (14.7), is second in the conference in field goals made (71), third in points (176), fourth in free throws made (34) and steals (22), fifth in points per game and offensive rebounds (35), sixth in free-throw percentage (72.3), eighth in total rebounds (89), and tenth in rebounds per game (7.4).

The women's basketball team continues Centennial Conference play on Tuesday night at Washington College.
