White to Appear on Hoopsville

White to Appear on Hoopsville

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Ursinus women's basketball head coach Margaret White is going to be in two places at once this evening - in a manner of speaking. In addition to roaming the sidelines during tonight's game against Cabrini, White will also be a guest on Hoopsville, the only show in the country dedicated to Division III basketball. Her interview - recorded earlier in the day - will air live at 7:00 p.m.

Created and hosted by Dave McHugh, Hoopsville is in its 13th season on the air. Broadcasting out of McHugh's personal studios in the Baltimore area, the show airs Thursdays and Sundays at 7:00 p.m. from November through the end of the season and includes archives of each show - along with a separate podcast.

Each show, McHugh speaks with coaches, players, administrators, reporters, and experts from around the country for their take on all things Division III basketball. The show also interacts with listeners through Twitter, Facebook, and email.

The theme of tonight's show is 'Have You Noticed?' and will feature interviews with coaches of teams that have gotten off to fast starts, perhaps under the radar. White's Bears certainly fit that bill, having scripted their best start in Centennial Conference play (4-0) since the 1996-97 season. Ursinus was picked sixth in the CC preseason poll, but will go into the new year tied with McDaniel atop the league standings. Muhlenberg, ranked 16th in the country, is also undefeated in CC play; all other schools have at least two losses.

Last Saturday, the Bears defeated Johns Hopkins for the first time since 2011, snapping a nine-game skid in the series. Since dropping the first three games of the 2015-16 campaign, Ursinus has rattled off four straight victories ahead of tonight's non-conference clash with Cabrini.
