Women's Basketball tripped by Muhlenberg

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa - Muhlenberg (9-7, Centennial 6-4) took the lead in at 17:43 and never gave it up as Leann Tallamy scored 25 points with nine rebounds as the Mules (9-7, 6-4 CC) defeated Ursinus (6-9, 4-6 CC) 67-43 at Helfferich Gymnasium Wednesday night.

Ursinus sophomore forward Caroline Shimrock was the only player to reach double figures scoring ten points and adding five rebounds. Sophomore forward Jessica Porada contributed eight points and five rebounds.

In a defensive struggle, Ursinus held Muhlenberg scoreless in the first few minutes but the Mules were able to jump out 16-6 lead. Tallamy kept Muhlenberg ahead scoring 14 points getting to the line six times.  Ursinus was out-rebounded 26-15 in the first half and only shot 28 percent to trail the mules at the half 38-21.

The Mules came out hot in the second half going on a 12-4 run in the first five minutes and closed the game was outscoring the Bears, 29-21.

Ursinus travels to McDaniel for their next game Saturday January 25 at 1 p.m.
