Women's Basketball closes non-conference stretch with loss to Moravian

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Playing its final non-conference game of the season, the Ursinus College women's basketball team dropped a 72-45 decision to Moravian on Tuesday night at Johnston Hall.

Ursinus saw sophomore forward Jessica Porada score a team-high nine points, while sophomore guard Alyssa Polimeni, senior guard Diamond Lewis and sophomore forward Caroline Shimrock all scored six points.

The Bears had closed to within 12 at intermission, before the Greyhounds (11-2) held the Bears to just 15 points in the second half.

Moravian was led by guard Katie O'Rourke who had 15 points with forward Ericka Blair scoring 14.

Ursinus did finish with a game-high 51 rebounds, with nine coming from Shimrock and seven from Porada.

Moravian opened the game on a 9-2 scoring run and led the entire way. A layup by Polimeni with 15:43 left in the first half put Ursinus within three at 9-6, which would be the closest the Bears would get.

Ursinus gets back into conference play on Saturday, hosting Dickinson.
