Women's Basketball devours Immaculata, 90-75

COLLEGEVILLE , Pa. -  Ursinus College sophomore forward Jessica Porada tied her career high with 23 points Wednesday evening as she help lead the Bears (5-3) to a 90-75 win over Immaculata (6-2) in women's basketball action.

Porada finished 11-16 from the field and 1-2 from the line with nine rebounds, a steal and one assist.

Ursinus jumped out to an early 6-2 lead and never looked back holding on to the lead for 38 minutes of the game and by halftime the Bears were leading comfortably 47-35.

Ursinus was aided by sophomore forward Tori Steinberg going 4-5 behind the three-point line scoring 12 total points and the team hit 53% of their shots from behind the three-point line to finish 10-of-19.

Sophomore guards Alyssa Polimeni and Caroline Shimrock finished tied for second on the team with 13 points each.  Polimeni grabbed nine rebounds and finished with four assists and three steals.

For the first time since February 13th 200, the Bears scored 90 points in a game as they remained undefeated at home.

Immaculata was led by junior guard Alison Zimny who had 21 points, while junior guard Sara Smith added in 20.

The Bears will face DeSales with a non-conference matchup in Center Valley on January 3rd at 6:00.
