Women's Basketball bounced by Johns Hopkins, 70-58

BALTIMORE, Md. – Despite 24 points from sophomore forward Jessica Porada, the Ursinus College women's basketball team lost to Johns Hopkins on Saturday afternoon by a score of 70-58 on the road.

Porada shot 50 percent from the field (8-for-16) and grabbed eight rebounds but the Blue Jays (3-1, 2-0 Centennial) got 21 points from Fatu Conteh who was 7-for-9 from the field and also 7-for-9 from the foul line in the win.

As a team, Johns Hopkins shot 49 percent from the field (24-for-49) and was 18-for-24 from the foul line, while owning a 44-27 edge on the glass.

Ursinus  (2-2, 1-1 Centennial) led only once in the game at 3-2 on a layup by senior guard Diamond Lewis with 17:44 left in the first half.

Sophomore forward Caroline Shimrock finished with nine points for the Bears, who travel to Swarthmore on Tuesday.
