Women's Basketball rallies for 65-55 win over Dickinson

CARLISLE, Pa. – A 38-point second half helped Ursinus (5-4, 3-3 Centennial) rally from a three-point deficit at intermission and secure a 65-55 win over Dickinson (6-3, 2-3 Centennial) Saturday afternoon in women's basketball play.

The Bears put four starters in double figures, with junior guard Diamond Lewis (East Windsor, N.J./Stuart Country Day) scoring 16 points leading all scorers.

Freshman forward Jessica Porada (Morristown, N.J./Morris Catholic) scored 11, with freshman forward Caroline Shimrock (Landsale, Pa./Gwynedd-Mercy Academy) and freshman guard Alyssa Polimeni (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston) each scoring ten.

Dickinson was led by 12 points from Dana Walsh.

Trailing 30-27 at intermission, Ursinus took the lead for good at 35-34 with 17:13 left on a layup by Porada.

Despite only converting one field goal in the final 4:25 of the game, the Bears sank ten foul shots during that stretch to maintain the lead.

Ursinus made only nine turnovers and forced 17 Red Devil turnovers on the night.

Dickinson had a slim 36-35 lead on the glass, with Walsh nabbing eight for the Red Devils. Lewis and Porada each had eight rebounds for Ursinus, while Lewis had five steals and four assists.
