Women's Basketball wins fourth straight, downs Bryn Mawr 67-34

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus freshman forward Jessica Porada (Morristown, N.J./Morris Catholic) had 16 points, while freshman forward Caroline Shimrock (Lansdale, Pa./Gwynedd-Mercy Academy) scored 15 as the Bears (4-1, 2-0 Centennial) defeated Bryn Mawr (1-4, 0-3 Centennial) 67-34 on Thursday night in women's basketball play.

Eight different players scored for Ursinus, who cracked open a five-point game midway through the first half by going on a 29-0 scoring run over a span of 13:37 to lead 46-12 at intermission.

Freshman guard Alyssa Polimeni (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston Regional), freshman forward Elana Roadcloud (Roslyn, Pa./Springside School) and freshman forward Tori Steinberg (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) all scored eight in the win as Ursinus led by as much as 37 points.

Bryn Mawr was led by freshman forward Hope McMahan who had ten points, while junior center Nicolette Parmese had eight points and ten rebounds for the Owls.

Roadcloud grabbed 11 rebounds, a game-high, for the Bears. Ursinus converted 26 Owl turnovers into 37 points.

The Bears head to Johns Hopkins on Saturday.
