HAVERFORD, Pa. – Fourth-seeded Haverford got out to a 16-6 start as the Fords (18-8) advanced to their first Centennial Conference semifinal in school history with a 55-41 win over Ursinus (13-13) Wednesday evening in the first round of the 2012 Centennial Conference tournament.

Fifth-seeded Ursinus was led by senior forward Lindsay Teuber (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Basil's) who finished with a game-high 15 points with senior guard Kristy George (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) with six. Sophomore guard Diamond Lewis (East Windsor, N.J./Stuart Country Day) finished with eight.

Ursinus was hampered by cold shooting, going just 12-for-46 from the field (26.1 percent) and trailed by as much as 17 points (24-7) with 4:56 left.

However, Ursinus held Haverford to just one field goal over the last 4:56 and over the first 4:47 of the second half to get within two at 26-24 with 15:13 left on a jumper by senior guard Alli Rosati (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks East) but could not even the score.

Leading 31-28, Haverford went on a 9-0 run to go up 12 and never looked back.

Playing in their final game for Ursinus were Teuber, George, senior forward Jackie Thomas (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower), Rosati and senior guard Jen Sroba (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North).
