Moving Along

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's basketball team won its Saturday afternoon tilt with the visiting Bullets of Gettysburg College by a score of 64-60.  The Bears solidifies its possession of third place in the Centennial Conference standings with the win. 

The Bears were lead by sophomore guard Diamond Lewis (East Windsor, N.J./Stuart Country Day) who netted 23 points in the effort.  Senior forward Lindsay Teuber (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Basil's) finished the game with 12 points and seven rebounds while senior guard Alli Rosati (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks East) netted 11.

For the Bullets, Sara Kinsley completed a double-double, netting 15 and grabbing 12 rebounds.  Caroline Murphy contributed 12 in the effort.

With the win and a loss by rival Muhlenberg, the Bears have taken sole possession of third place in the conference.

Ursinus, sprinted out to a 22-11 lead in the opening 8:15; however, a strong performance on the back end of the first half by the Bullets sent the teams into halftime clinging to a 33-31 lead.

A three point shot by Rosati put the Bears up four with 1:44 remaining in the game, a lead the Bears would not relinquish as they held on for the win.

The Bears take the court again Wednesday evening, hosting the Fords of Haverford College at Helfferich Hall.  Tip is set for 6 pm.
