COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's basketball team fell for the first time in 2012, dropping a 66-61 decision to Centennial Conference rival Johns Hopkins Saturday at Helfferich Hall.

The Bears (5-7, 4-3 CC) were lead by senior forward Lindsay Teuber (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Basil's), who netted 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, eight coming on the defensive glass.   Senior guard Alli Rosati (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks East) was second in scoring for the Bears, scoring ten.  Sophomore forward Devin Butchko (Cream Ridge, N.J./Villa Victoria Academy) contributed eight points for the Bears.

Johns Hopkins (10-1, 5-1 CC) got 13 points from Alex Vassila and ten points from Stephanie Fong in the win, as they shot 43 percent from the field.

With the contest knotted at 17-all with 12:29 left in the first half, the Bears went on an eight-to-one run over the next 4:59 minutes to take a 25-18 lead with 7:30 to take a 25-18 lead.  Hopkins, however, battled back and closed the half on an 11-4 run of their own to enter the intermission knotted at 29 a piece.

The second half saw the Blue Jays go up by as many as twelve with 7:12 left to play, utilizing 19 second half bench points.  A Teuber lay-up with 3:38 remaining brought the Bears within nine, 54-62.  Ursinus would go on a 10-2 run over the final minutes, leaving the Bears down one with 19 seconds left in the contest.  Superb foul shooting would seal the win for the Blue Jays, as they went 4-4 from the charity stripe to close the game.
