COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus closed the first half on a 11-2 run as the Bears (3-3, 2-1 Centennial) defeated Swarthmore (3-4, 1-3 Centennial) 78-69 on Saturday afternoon in women's basketball play. 

The Bears led by as much as 15 points in the second half, keeping Swarthmore at bay as the Garnet could only get to within six the rest of the way. Ursinus also held Swarthmore without a field goal in the last 3:51.

Senior forward Lindsay Teuber (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Basil's) had a game-high 22 points, while sophomore guard Diamond Lewis along with sophomore forward Liz Martin (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) each added in 12. Ursinus was effective from the field, shooting 54.9 percent (28-for-51) and 54.5 percent from behind the three-point line (6-for-11).

Senior guard Kristy George (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) had 11 points and four assists in the win.

For Swarthmore, Elle Larson had 21 points with Katie Lytle scoring 14 points and grabbing a game-high 18 rebounds.

Ursinus trailed early by as much as four, before taking the lead for the first time at 17-16 with 10:31 to go on a three-pointer by Lewis. The teams would trade the lead five times before Ursinus went on their run to end the half to go up 42-33.

Lewis pitched in with six assists on the day, while Teuber and Martin each had three. Martin and Teuber also had two blocks each.
