Lancaster, Pa. – The Ursinus Women's Basketball team dropped its Centennial Conference opener to league rival Franklin & Marshall Tuesday evening by a score of 64-52.  Senior guard Alli Rosati (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) had a team high 14 points, sinking five of her nine shots from the field and three of her four free throws.  Senior guard Kristy George (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) contributed nine points for the Bears while sophomore forward Sarah Martin (Doylestown, Pa./Doylestown) had eight points for Ursinus while contributing four rebounds.

The Bears rallied from a 14 point halftime deficit to come within three points of the Diplomats with just under six minutes remaining in the contest.  Ursinus came out of the gate hard in the second half, starting with a 5-0 run to come within nine of Franklin & Marshall. After a Diplomats three pointer was good, Senior forward Lindsay Teuber (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Basil's) brought the Bears back within ten.  Teuber had a game-high thirteen rebounds.

Ursinus was sparked by a three pointer from George at 14:26 to bring the Bears within eight.  A lay-up from sophomore guard Diamond Lewis (East Windsor, N.J./Stuart Country Day) and a pair of free throws from sophomore guard Liz Martin (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) brought the Bears within four, 48-44 with just over six minutes remaining in the contest, but the Diplomats would finish the game on a 16-8 run.

The Bears return to action Thursday evening to open their home slate against the Owls of Bryn Mawr College.  Game time is 7:00 p.m.
