COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's basketball team is going back to the Centennial playoffs.

For the first time since winning it all in 2007, the Bears punched their ticket with a come-from-behind victory over Washington College (11-13, 9-10 Centennial)  on Wednesday night by a 50-44 score. The Bears (13-11, 11-8 Centennial) went on a 15-0 run over a span of 5:44 in the second half to take the win.

With the win, Ursinus is projected to be the fourth seed, which would net them a home game in the first round game on Wednesday. The Bears could play either Franklin & Marshall or Swarthmore. Even if the Bears would lose on Saturday, Ursinus would win a tie breaker with either Swarthmore or F&M, as the Bears have a win over Johns Hopkins this season.

Back to this game, there were several heros that helped the Bears pull off the much needed win. Junior forward Lindsay Teuber (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Basil's) posted game-highs in points (20) and rebounds (14). Of those totals, she scored 14 points and grabbed ten rebounds in the second half.

One player who may not have had high marks in points or rebounds, but, made her presence known was junior guard Jen Sroba (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North). Entering the game with 11:39 left, her strong defensive play sparked the Bears on their run.

Also coming up big when needed was senior Alex Shivers (Pine Beach, N.J./Toms River South). Shivers came off the bench to score 11 points. Senior guard Jaclyn Hilf (Maple Glen, Pa./Upper Dublin), freshman guard Diamond Lewis (East Windsor, N.J./Stuart Country Day) and Sroba all had five points Junior guard Alli Rosati (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks East) had three steals.

Ursinus also converted 16 offensive rebounds into 11 points, and had a 40-36 lead on the glass.

For Washington, junior guard Meghan Tait had 19 points, with junior guard Sally O'Donnell and sophomore center Erin Kile scoring eight each.

Trailing 35-28 with 10:08 left to go in the game, Ursinus embarked on the 15-0 run and when it was all said and done, had a 43-35 lead with 4:24 left on a layup by Shivers. That was their biggest lead of the game. The Bears took the lead for good during the run, as Teuber hit two foul shots from 7:48 to go to make the score 36-35.

Washington had one final gasp, as freshman guard Erin Fitzgerald made 1-of-2 foul shots from 24 seconds left to cut the Ursinus lead to 47-44. On the Bears' next possession, Shivers made two foul shots to put the game out of reach.

Ursinus heads to Muhlenberg on Saturday for a  2 p.m. game at Memorial Hall.
