Women's Basketball downed by Gettysburg, 65-58

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gettysburg shot 41.4 percent from the field in both halves as the Bullets (16-5, 11-5 Centennial) defeated Ursinus (13-8, 9-7 Centennial) 65-58 Saturday afternoon at Bream Gymnasium.

Four players for Gettysburg scored in double figures paced by 16 points from Sarh Kinsley and 15 from Julie McGrory.

For Ursinus, junior forward Lindsay Teuber (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Basil's) had 18 with senior guard Jaclyn Hilf (Maple Glen, Pa./Upper Dublin) netting 14.

Ursinus did have the early lead in this one, going up by as much as six points with 14:15 left in the first half on a layup by Teuber to give the Bears a 10-4 lead. Gettysburg rallied back to tie the score but could not go up by more than two points until a McGrory jumper with 7:45 left in the first for a 22-18 lead.

The Bears took their last lead of the game at 28-27 with 1:17 left on a three-pointer by junior forward Jackie Thomas (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower), before Gettysburg closed the half on a 4-0 run for a  31-28 halftime edge.

In the second half, Gettysburg embarked on an 11-0 run over a span of 6:48 to go up 44-31 with 11:47 left and never looked back.

Teuber had seven boards for the Bears, who travel to Haverford on Wednesday.
