COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus junior forward Lindsay Teuber (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Basil's) hit a layup with just under six seconds to go as the Bears (12-7) defeated Albright (6-12) 55-53 in a thriller Monday night in women's basketball play.
Teuber, who finished with a team-high 15 points and ten rebounds, got a pass from senior guard Jaclyn Hilf (Maple Glen, Pa./Upper Dublin) leading to the game-winning basket. Hilf finished with 11, while senior forward Alex Shivers (Pine Beach, N.J./Toms River South) had 12 points and three blocks in 36 minutes of play.
Albright drove the length of the floor, but, missed a layup that just fell of the front of the rim as time expired.
Senior guard MariLynn McMonagle had 16 points for the Lions, who made just 26.9 percent (7-for-26) of their shots from the field in the second half. Senior guard Jessica McGinness had 13.
Ursinus took advantage of second-chance points, and offensive rebounds as the Bears had a 49-36 lead on the glass and a 23-8 edge in offensive rebounds.
After trailing by five (35-30) at intermission, Ursinus rallied to go up by nine with 12:30 left at 46-39 on a layup by junior guard Alli Rosati (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks East). Rosati finished with eight points in the win.
Ursinus hosts Bryn Mawr on Wednesday.
