Women's Basketball tripped up by Dickinson, 49-45

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – A 10-0 run over a span of 2:53 in the last third of the second half gave Dickinson (8-10, 6-8 Centennial) a 49-45 win over Ursinus (11-7, 8-6 Centennial) in women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon.

At the end of the rally, Dickinson led 45-35 with 3:17 left to go in the game, before Ursinus ralled back to within three at 48-45 with 26 seconds left on a layup by junior forward Lindsay Teuber (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Basil's). The Bears stole the ensuing inbound, but missed two three-pointers on their next possession.

Ursinus was led by senior guard Jaclyn Hilf (Maple Glen, Pa./Upper Dublin) with ten points, while Teuber had nine. Freshman guard Sarah Martin (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) added in seven points off the bench and a team-best eight rebounds.

Dickinson got 18 points from senior forward Alesha Sisco, and ten from senior forward Carole Dempsey.

Trailing most of the first half, Ursinus got to within three at intermission as a three-pointer by Hilf with 57 seconds left cut the deficit to 26-23.

A three-pointer by junior guard Kristy George (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) with 18:12 left to go in the game gave Ursinus a slim 30-29 lead. After Dickinson regained the lead, Ursinus went up one last time with 9:10 left in the game on a jumper by freshman forward Devin Butchko (Cream Ridge, N.J./Villa Victoria Academy) for a 34-33 Ursinus lead.

Ursinus had a 36-31 lead on the glass, including a 13-5 lead on the offensive glass.

The Bears host Albright on Monday night.
