Women's Basketball falls at F&M, 71-55

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall held Ursinus to just 7-for-27 shooting in the first half as the Diplomats (9-6, 7-3 Centennial) defeated the Bears (10-4, 7-3 Centennial) 71-55 on Monday night in women's basketball action.

Trailing by ten midway through the second half, Ursinus went on a 7-0 run to cut the deficit to three points with 6:06 left but would not get any closer.

For the Diplomats, senior guard Beth Holt had 17 points, with sophomore guard Alexa Barbush scoring 13.

Ursinus was led by junior forward Lindsay Teuber (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Basil's) who had a game-high 18 points, with senior forward Alex Shivers (Pine Beach, N.J./Toms River South) adding in eight.

Ursinus suffered through a cold stretch early on, not scoring a basket till 12:26 left in the first half on a layup by Teuber. In fact, Ursinus would score seven straight to get within one at 8-7 on a jumper by Teuber. The

Bears took their only lead at 16-15 with 6:01 left in the first half on a pair of foul shots by Teuber. F&M then went on a 8-0 run and had a 28-21 lead at intermission.

F&M had a 36-27 lead on the glass, with Teuber grabbing seven for the Bears.

Ursinus will host Muhlenberg on Wednesday.
