Women's Basketball holds off DeSales, 39-37

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Another game came down to foul shots for the Ursinus College women's basketball team, and for the second straight time, the Bears came out on the right end.

Junior forward Lindsay Teuber (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Basil's) hit two foul shots with 43 seconds left as Ursinus (2-0) defeated DeSales (2-1) 39-37 on Saturday night in the opening game of the Starter's Pub Tip-Off
tournament hosted by DeSales University.

The Bears will take on the winner of Scranton-William Patterson on Sunday at 3 p.m. Ursinus led wire-to-wire and had as much as a 14 point lead in the second half.

For Ursinus, freshman forward Sarah Martin (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) had 11 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Bears, while Teuber finished with ten points.

Despite only shooting 27.5 percent (14-for-51) from the field, Ursinus had a 43-34 edge on the glass with a 18-12 advantage on the offensive side.

Freshman guard Diamond Lewis (East Windsor, N.J./Stuart Country Day) chipped in with seven points.
