Bears drop season finale to Muhlenberg, 80-46

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Muhlenberg put four players in double figures as the Mules (20-4, 17-3 Centennial) wrapped up the top seed in the upcoming Centennial Conference playoffs with a 80-46 win over Ursinus (12-13, 9-11 Centennial) Saturday afternoon in women's basketball play.

Sophomore guard Alexandra Chili had a game-high 14 points, while junior guard Kelly McKeon added in 13 for Muhlenberg.

For Ursinus, sophomore forward Lindsay Teuber (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Basil's) had 13 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore guard Jen Sroba (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) had nine, with all nine points coming on the foul line.

Leading by just 12 at halftime (40-28), Muhlenberg outscored Ursinus 21-3 over the first 6:07 of the second half to put the game out of reach. Ursinus shot just 12.5 percent from the field in the second 20 minutes (3-for-24).

Ursinus also got six points from sophomore center Ryann Burke (Haddon Township, N.J./Haddon Township) in the loss.

Saturday marked the final home games for senior center Carolyn Konstanzer (Hilltown, Pa./Pennridge), senior guard Laura Krieger (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) and senior forward Julie Bown (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Penn Charter). All three were recognized before the game, and leave Ursinus with a Centennial Conference championship and an appearance in the NCAA Division III tournament back in 2007.
