WBB breezes past Elizabethtown, 61-42

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Ursinus sophomore guard Alli Rosati (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks East) scored a game-high 21 points, while junior forward Alex Shivers (Pine Beach, N.J./Toms River South) added in 15 as Ursinus (8-9) defeated Elizabethtown (5-11) 61-42 in a non-conference women's game on Monday night.

Ursinus scored 32 points off of 22 Elizabethtown turnovers and also held the Blue Jays to just 18.2 percent shooting from the field (4-for-22) in the first half.

Elizabethtown got 15 points from senior guard Courtney Kofeldt in the loss.

Shivers also finished with a game-high 11 rebounds as the Bears had a 47-33 lead in rebounds.

Ursinus started the game by outscoring the Blue Jays 15-4, taking an 11 point lead on a foul shot by Rosati. Elizabethtown would get as close as nine the rest of the way (15-6 with 11:44 left on a layup by junior forward Kaity Snyder), before Ursinus would take as much as a 21 point lead in the first half. That lead came with 49 seconds left on a layup by sophomore center Ryann Burke (Haddon Township, N.J./Haddon Township) making the score 33-12.

In the second half, Elizabethtown made a little run but would only get as close as eight at 41-33 with 11 minutes left on a foul shot by Snyder.

From there, Ursinus went back up 16 with 3:26 left on a layup by senior guard Laura Krieger (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) at 53-37.

Ursinus will host Washington on Wednesday.
