Bears fall to Gettysburg, 59-38

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Gettysburg junior guard Mary Spicer and sophomore forward Julie McGrory each had 11 points as Gettysburg (8-0, 5-0 Centennial) defeated Ursinus (5-3, 3-3 Centennial) 59-38 on Saturday.

The Bears were held to just ten points in the second half, converting just four field goals.

For Ursinus, sophomore forward Lindsay Teuber (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert's) had eight points while senior center Carolyn Konstanzer (Hilltown, Pa./Pennridge) and sophomore guard Alli Rosati (Jamison, Pa./C.B. East) each had six.

Ursinus' biggest lead came at 11-8 with 14:47 left in the first half when Teuber hit a layup. From that point, Gettysburg went on a 13-1 run over the next 4:49 to go up nine.

Trailing by 13 with 6:40 left, Ursinus got back to within five at 33-28 with 2:07 left on a jumper by senior forward Julie Bown (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Penn Charter).

Gettysburg pulled away by outscoring the Bears 18-3 over the first 11:34 of the second half.

Ursinus was outrebounded 35-34 with Teuber grabbing ten for the Bears.
