COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Ursinus held Bryn Mawr to just eight points
in the first half as the Bears (3-1, 1-1 Centennial) evened their
Centennial record with a 58-24 win over the Owls (1-3, 0-2
Centennial) on Tuesday night.
Ursinus won despite shooting just 26.9 percent (18-for-67) from the
field in the contest, including 17.6 percent (6-for-34) from the
floor in the first 20 minutes. Bryn Mawr did not fare as well
either, as the Owls went 8-for-38 (21.1 percent) from the field in
the contest.
The Bears, who never trailed, got 12 points from senior center
Carolyn Konstanzer (Hilltown, Pa./Pennridge) while
senior forward Julie Bown (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Penn
Charter) added in eight.
For Bryn Mawr, senior guard Shanika Bridges-King had ten points,
while senior forward Caroline Heffernan had a game-high 11
rebounds. Ursinus held a commanding 54-32 edge in rebounding, with
freshman center Ashley Sivo (Piscataway, N.J./St.
Timothy's) grabbing a team-high eight rebounds.
Sophomore guard Alli Rosati (Jamison, Pa./C.B.
East) collected nine steals, seven points, six rebounds
and four assists for the Bears in the win. Ursinus heads to F&M
on Thursday.
