CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

 

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Ursinus softball senior Mackenzie Brennan was named a first team Academic All-District honoree by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced Thursday.

 

 

The CoSIDA Academic All-District softball team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the classroom and on the field of competition. Brennan was voted a first-team selection for District 4 (Pennsylvania) and advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America recipients will be announced on June 7th

 

 

Brennan becomes the first Bear to earn coSIDA Academic All-District honors since Lauren Davis-Macedonia and Kelly Kalovcak were named to the team in 2010. She has been a standout in the classroom at Ursinus after earning National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete honors in 2019 and being named to the Academic All-Centennial team in 2021. Brennan holds a 3.75 GPA as a Health and Exercise Physiology major.

 

 

Brennan recently earned her second-straight All-Centennial Conference softball first team nod. She polished off her stellar career at Ursinus with another solid season at the plate. Brennan paced the team with a .403 batting average and paced the Centennial Conference with 22 stolen bases and four triples. Brennan ranked third in the conference with 14 doubles, fourth with 48 hits, fifth with 29 runs scored, and sixth in slugging percentage at .588.

 

 

She posted 17-multi hit contests which included tallying eight-straight from March 29th to April 12th. Brennan recorded her 100th career hit against Haverford this season and will finish her Ursinus career as a .389 hitter along with 118 total hits, 69 runs scored, 53 RBI's, 39 stolen bases, and two home runs.
