LANCASTER, Pa.  – After an all-around strong week at the plate, Ursinus softball senior Mackenzie Brennan was named Centennial Conference Softball Player of the Week, announced by the Conference on Tuesday morning.

Brennan was a dynamic force for the Ursinus offense last week as she tallied multi-hit games in all five games she appeared in during a 5-1 week for the Bears. She hit a scorching .611 from the plate (11-of-18) with two doubles, two triples, a .667 on-base percentage and .944 slugging percentage along with nine runs scored and five RBIs. Brennan also went a perfect 8-of-8 in stolen base attempts in the five games she appeared in. She went 3-of-4 from the plate in game one against Elizabethtown last Wednesday afternoon and delivered the eventual game-winning two-run single in the sixth inning. In game two against Gettysburg on Saturday, she swiped three bases and went 2-of-3 from the plate with one RBI and two runs scored in a 7-4 win.

A two-time All-Centennial selection, Brennan ranks second on the team with a .413 batting average and with 13 RBI's Brennan ranks second on the team and third in the Centennial Conference with 19 runs scored and leads the conference with 17 stolen bases and three triples. She has hit safely in all but two games this season and has recorded nine multi-hit efforts.

This is the first time in her collegiate career that she has garnered a weekly accolade from the Centennial Conference and the first Bear to earn a weekly award since senior Kayla McTamney was named pitcher of the week in April 2019.

The Bears return to action this afternoon as they will take on Haverford for a Centennial Conference doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
