LANCASTER, Pa. – Sophomore Kaitlyn Willis of the Ursinus College softball team was named the Centennial Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Willis dazzled in her one start of the week, a 3-2 victory over Franklin & Marshall on Tuesday. The right-hander went the distance, allowing only two unearned runs to help the Bears hold on in the opener of their conference twin bill. Willis scattered five hits and struck out six with one walk in improving to 5-3 on the year.

Willis has been dominant on the bump of late, surrendering just three earned runs over 27.0 innings in her last four starts, all complete games. That hot stretch has lowered her ERA to 2.66, good for eighth in the conference.

Willis, who needs seven strikeouts to reach 100 for her career, gets her next start tomorrow in a CC doubleheader at Washington College.
