COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - McDaniel and Ursinus split a Centennial Conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, with each team winning by a 2-1 score.

In the first game, McDaniel scored twice in the seventh to take the while, while the Bears (13-12, 3-5 Centennial) scored twice in the bottom of the sixth to take the 2-1 win over the Green Terror (18-8, 10-2 Centennial).

In game one, Ursinus scored as junior Kelly Schymanski (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) was hit by pitch, forcing in junior Caitlin Higgins (Mickleton, N.J./Kingsway Regional) with two outs.

In the seventh, Amy Baumgardner tripled to left field, scoring Lauren Mertz to tie the score. On a fielders choice bunt by Lindsey Blohm, Baumgardner scored for the winning run.

In game one, junior Amy Gentile (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley), Rachel Vietheer (Bethpage, N.Y./Bethpage) and Higgins all hit safely.

Junior Jennilyn Weber (Valley View, Pa./Tri-Valley) took the loss, falling to 7-7. She struck out six and allowed the two earned runs.

In game two, the two runs came off the bat of junior Kelsey Coyne (Stowe, Pa./Pottsgrove) as she tripled to right field with two outs, scoring senior Cassie Brown (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) and Schymanski.

McDaniel scored one in seventh on a home run by Sam Stitley with two outs, but, the Green Terror would not get closer.

Gentile and Schymanski each had two hits in the win.

Schymanski got the win, improving to 5-4. She allowed one earned run, three hits and struck out five to improve to 5-4.

Ursinus hosts Lebanon Valley on Tuesday.
