NEW ORLEANS – The Ursinus College men's track and field team was named an All-Academic Team by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) while graduates Tyler Reilly and Nick Galbraith received All-Academic Athlete recognition, the organization announced on Tuesday.

To earn All-Academic Team status, the cumulative grade-point average of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at least 3.1. The Bears earned a 3.13 GPA, marking the fourth consecutive season of All-Academic Team laurels under head coach Carl Blickle.

Sophomore Ean Chasinoff, Galbraith, sophomore Will Gillette, sophomore Parker Howell, senior Marcos Maciel, senior Edward Martinez, senior Colin McCarty, sophomore Tucker McGrath, junior Dylan Melby , junior Dylan Simms, senior Brandon Slaboda, senior Ken Sprankle, sophomore Eric Tanz, junior Steve Wilkins, sophomore Henry Wilt, and senior Jesse Wun were all named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the spring.

The men's track and field squad also placed two of its members on the All-Academic Athlete roster. Reilly and Galbraith both made it on the prestigious list, which honors student-athletes who have maintained at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA and also rank among the top-50 individuals or top-35 relay units in the nation, for the first time in their collegiate careers

Already All-Mideast Region performers, Reilly and Galbraith now add All-Academic Individual accolades to their stellar senior-year resumes.

Reilly was a catalyst in the team's first-ever Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship by becoming the first Bear since 2006 to be named Centennial Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Year after winning four medals at the championship meet with two individuals and two from relays to earn four first team All-Centennial nods. He earned gold for the second time in the 400 and the 4x400 relay for outdoor season while winning gold in the 200 and 4x100 for the first time in the spring championship meet. Reilly registered 40 points for both the indoor and outdoor championships this season and will finish with 25 career medals between the two track seasons. He capped his career by competing at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 4x400 relay.

Galbraith was also a major factor in the Bears Centennial Championship by powering the Bears throws. His efforts earned him the Centennial Conference Field Athlete of the Year accolade. He won two gold medals, one bronze medal, and placed in all four events he competed at the Centennial Championship meet. His gold in the shot put was the first in his career along with his bronze in the javelin being the first time he medaled in the event. Galbraith registered his second career gold in the hammer throw. Galbraith earned Academic All-Centennial honors with his All-Centennial honors in those events.

Both Reilly and Galbraith were named to the PhillySIDA Men's Track & Field All-Academic team as well back in June.
