Reilly, Galbraith Named to PhillySIDA Men's T&F Academic All-Area Team

PHILADELPHIA – A pair of Ursinus Men's Track & Field athletes were named to the PhillySIDA Men's Track & Field Academic All-Area Team on Friday morning. Graduates Tyler Reilly and Nick Galbraith earned spots on the roster of 11.

The Academic All-Area Team, voted on by the sports information offices of 30 institutions in the Philadelphia metro area, requires a student-athlete to be in their second year at the school and hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or better.

The accolade adds to the long list of postseason honors for Reilly after decorated senior season that saw him help play a role in the first Centennial Conference championship in program history for the Men's Track & Field team. Reilly became the first Bear since 2006 to be named Centennial Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Year after winning four medals at the championship meet with two individuals and two from relays to earn four first team All-Centennial nods. He earned gold for the second time in the 400 and the 4x400 relay for outdoor season while winning gold in the 200 and 4x100 for the first time in the spring championship meet. Reilly registered 40 points for both the indoor and outdoor championships this season and will finish with 25 career medals between the two track seasons. He capped his career by competing at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 4x400 relay.

Galbraith played a huge role in the Bears Centennial Championship by powering the Bears throws. His efforts earned him the Centennial Conference Field Athlete of the Year accolade. He won two gold medals, one bronze medal, and placed in all four events he competed at the Centennial Championship meet. His gold in the shot put was the first in his career along with his bronze in the javelin being the first time he medaled in the event. Galbraith registered his second career gold in the hammer throw. Galbraith earned Academic All-Centennial honors with his All-Centennial honors in those events.

Reilly and Galbraith are the first Bears Men's Track & Field athletes in recent memory to be named to team.
