Men's T&F 4x400 Relay Team Takes Down Meet Record on Day One of AARTFC Championships

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field 4x400 relay team of senior Tyler Reilly, junior Payton Stanziani, junior Daniel Tabor, sophomore Devon Greaves were in the spotlight again as they topped their two-day old school record and set a new All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Championship (AARTFC) meet record on Wednesday at Moravian University.

 

 

The squad set a blazing time of 3:13.62 to win the event and topped their old best time set on Monday at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet. The time is currently the 11th-fastest in all of NCAA Division III as they put themselves in a good spot to qualify for the NCAA Championship meet next week in Geneva, Ohio. They have improved their time from the Centennial Championships by exactly six seconds.

 

 

In the throws, junior Isaiah Battle registered a throw of 43.08 meters in the discus and finished 11th overall. Freshman Chase Shaneman recorded a mark of 46.48 meters in the javelin to cap off a strong first year.

 

 

Freshman Brody Myers placed 11th overall in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 4.40 meters to cap off his breakout collegiate debut season.

 

 

Senior Marcos Maciel finished 11th in the 10,000-meters with his time of 32:29.80, topping his own previous best by six seconds. Jesse Wun finished 17th in the 5,000-meters with a time of 15:32.58

 

 

The Bears wrap up competition in the two-day event tomorrow, May 19th starting at 10:30 a.m.
