CHESTER, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field team began its final week of last chance qualifier meets at the Swarthmore Last Chance Invitational that began on Monday evening. Heavy thunderstorms pushed the track events into the late night on Monday and most of the field events were moved to Tuesday afternoon.

The 4x400 relay team of senior Tyler Reilly, junior Payton Stanziani, sophomore Devon Greaves, and junior Daniel Tabor stole the show on Monday night with a blistering time of 3:15.14 to not only win the event, but also shatter the school record in the process. The squad bested the old mark of 3:18.16 set in 2015 by Andrew Mackin, Darius Jones, Patrick Mekongo, and Richard Schulz by over three seconds.

Freshman Mason Jolivette competed in the other track event for the Bears in the meet and posted a time of 59.49 in the 400-meter hurdles.

On Tuesday afternoon, freshman Trey Rolle recorded a third-place finish in the high jump after registering a mark of 1.86 meters. Junior Isaiah Battle registered a throw of 40.56 meters in the discus and finished in fourth while freshman Brody Myers placed fourth in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 4.27 meters. A pair of Bears competed in the shot put as senior Nick Galbraith finished fifth with a throw of 14.16 meters and freshman Tom Wood finished just behind in sixth with a personal best mark of 13.83 meters.

Ursinus returns to action tomorrow, May 18th as they will compete in the two-day All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Championships at Moravian University starting at 12 p.m.
