LANCASTER, Pa. – Behind a school record throw, senior Nick Galbraith was named Centennial Conference Track & Field Men's Field Athlete of the Week, announced by the Conference.

Galbraith set a new Ursinus school record and posted the second-best hammer throw in Centennial history with a mark of 169-5 ft.  at the Gwynedd Mercy Twilight Meet. He finished second in the meet and led six Bears in the event. Galbraith's throw ranks 43rd in Division III this season and leads the conference. His throw topped the old mark of 155 ft. set by Griffin McMann last season.

The Spring City native will look to take back the Hammer Throw gold at Centennial Championships in two and a half weeks after claiming the event title during his freshman season of 2019. Galbraith also currently holds the Centennial's fifth-best throw in the discus and the shot put along with the seventh-best throw in the javelin this spring. This is the first time in his collegiate career he has earned the Field weekly accolade from the Centennial during the outdoor season after earning the honor during the 2020 indoor season.

The Bears return to action on Friday, April 22nd as they will begin competition in the two-day Widener Invitational at 3:00 p.m.
