Myers, 4x400 Relay Highlights T&F on Day One of AARTFC Championship

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – With one week until the NCAA Indoor Championships, The Ursinus Indoor Track & Field teams began competition in the AARTFC Championship at Nazareth College on Friday.

 

Freshman Brody Myers set the Ursinus Men's school record in the pole vault for the third time this season as recorded a mark of 15-5.50 ft. which topped his old mark of 15-3 ft. The Centennial Conference champion finished sixth overall in the event against a strong set of pole vaulters.

 

The 4x400 Centennial Champion relay team of senior Tyler Reilly, junior Daniel Tabor, sophomore Collin Ney, and junior Payton Stanziani posted a season-best time of 3:20.33 which placed second overall. It was the fastest flat track time in program history for the evet and is now the 11th fastest time in NCAA Division III this season.

 

Senior Octavious Carter recorded a time of 7.08 in the prelims of the 60-meter dash and advanced to the finals tomorrow after finishing eighth overall. Junior Daniel Maloney posted a time of 8.56 in the prelims of the 60-meter hurdles and placed 10th overall.

 

Junior Isabelle Deal was the lone women's competitor on the day in the shot put and recorded a throw of 37-3.25 ft. to finish 17th overall.

 

The Bears will wrap up the event tomorrow, March 5th with a 10:00 a.m. start time.
