McMann Leads Men's T&F in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, Md. – Griffin McMann won the shot put and was runner-up in the discus to highlight the Ursinus College men's track and field team's effort at the Johns Hopkins/Loyola Invitational on Saturday.

McMann launched a season-high 47-6.50 feet in the shot put, about 10 inches clear of a thrower from Division I UMBC.

The senior's second-place showing in the discus was one of three runner-up performances for the Bears, two of them coming from the throws contingent. McMann's toss of 133-11 on his fourth attempt was enough to edge out another UMBC competitor by a little more than three feet.

Nick Galbraith took second in the javelin, registering a mark of 152-2 on his first attempt.

Giles Daly recorded a new personal best in the steeplechase, crossing in 9:37.78 to finish in second place.

Daniel Maloney narrowly missed a PR in the 110-hurdles, finishing in 16.29 to miss his personal mark by just .02 seconds.

Tyler Reilly shaved almost a second off his season benchmark in the 400-meter dash, placing fifth with a time of 50.02 seconds.

Devon Greaves was fifth in the 400 hurdles, where his clocking of 59.59 was a new personal best. Brandon Slaboda placed sixth with a career-best 1:01.34.

Reilly, Greaves, Dylan Simms, and Payton Stanziani were terrific in the 4x400-meter relay, finishing in third place with a time of 3:24.31.

Tyree Williams-Jackson logged a PR in the 100-meter dash (11.74), and Daniel Tabor did so in the 200 (23.38).

Williams-Jackson also finished seventh in the long jump (18-4.25), and Zach Crebbin was sixth in the high jump (6-00.75). Tabor placed seventh in the triple jump (39-5.75).

Kyle Berardi knocked almost 10 seconds off his previous best in the 5000 meters, finishing in 15:52.76.
