NEW ORLEANS – The Ursinus College men's track and field team was named an All-Academic Team by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA), while a pair of Bears were honored individually.

Rising senior Griffin McMann and rising sophomore Payton Stanziani were each named All-Academic Athletes, which recognizes student-athletes who have maintained at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and also rank among the top-50 individuals or top-35 relay units in the nation.

McMann enjoyed a sensational indoor campaign, winning gold medals in both the weight throw and shot put and collecting All-Mideast Region accolades in the shot put. A Computer Science major, he was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for both the winter and spring semesters.

A Biology major, Stanziani was part of the first-place 4x400-meter relay and also claimed silver in the 400-meter dash at the CC indoor championships.

To earn All-Academic Team status, the cumulative grade-point average of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at least 3.1. The Bears achieved a 3.19 cumulative GPA.

Kyle Berardi, Nick Galbraith, Evan Giannetti, Brody Johnson, David Lippe, Ed Martinez, Colin McCarty, McMann, Gary Nagle, Daniel Powell, Brandon Slaboda, Ken Sprankle, Caleb Torres, Jesse Wun, and Adam Zucker all received recognition on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the spring semester.

The Ursinus women joined their male counterparts in earning the honor, marking the second straight year in which both Bear programs achieved All-Academic Team recognition.
