Men's Track and Field Sends Several to Finals at CC Championship

CARLISLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's track and field team advanced several athletes to the finals in a variety of events as the Centennial Conference outdoor championship continued with the second day of competition at Dickinson College.

The Bears sit in ninth place with a total of 5.33 points with 13 events remaining on Sunday's docket.

Senior Andrew Mackin, who became the first Ursinus man to win the 800-meter run at the indoor meet, finished third in the outdoor prelims, logging a time of 1:56.67 to move on to Sunday's finals.

Senior Erich Keyser will compete in the 110-meter hurdles finals after finishing fifth with a collegiate-best 16.00 in the prelims.

Keyser is also set to take part in the 400-meter hurdles finals, placing sixth in the prelims with a 57.20. Senior Skyler McCormick landed just outside the finals field, placing ninth in 59.70.

Junior Jequan Mitchell matched Keyser with a fifth-place effort in the 100-meter dash, edging out his previous best by one-hundredth of a second (11.28). Mitchell also advanced to the 200-meter dash finals after finishing sixth with a clocking of 22.73, good for a season best.

Mitchell also placed ninth in the long jump (19-9.50).
