FAIRFAX, Va. - Andrew Mackin set a school record in the 500, part of several top performances for Ursinus at the Patriot Games Invitational hosted by George Mason University. The Bears did not get a team score.
Mackin clocked a 1:06.7, finishing third overall behind two Division I runners. The record was set by Richard Schulz this year.
Darius Jones was fifth overall in the high jump with a height of 6-04.5, just an inch off his personal best.
Evan Shea advanced to the semifinals of the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.7, which ranks third best in the conference at this point.
Jones later clocked a 7.3 in the 60 dash, less than .1 off his personal best, while Schulz and Jequan Mitchell each had a 7.4.
Shea and Schulz each had 24.3 in the 200, which was a personal best for Evan.
In the 400, Anthony Sierzega and Miles Perkins both ran season bests at 53.1 and 53.9.
Finally, Joe Iuliccui ran a 15 second personal best in the 3k by running at 9:25
