COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – In the first meet of the second semester, the Ursinus College men's track and field team worked deep into the night at the Collegeville Classic. A total of 24 teams competed on the men's side, in a meet that featured over 1,000 athletes.

The Bears finished with ninth overall, with Salisbury winning the overall title.

Individually, senior Darius Jones was eighth overall in the 60 dash with a time of 7.2. He also finished fifth in the high jump with a height of 5-10.75. Jequan Mitchell won his heat in the 60 dash with a personal best time of 7.3

Freshman Adam Myers just missed his personal best with a throw of 42-02 in the shot put to advance to the finals.

Skyler McCormick was busy, as he posted the fastest times of the day for the Bears in both the 200 (23.4) and the 400 (53.2). He, along with Tony Sierzega, Richie Shultz, and Jones finished third overall in the 4x4 with a time of 3:32. McCormick ran a 52.7 split in the anchor lege.

Shultz had a 53.8 in the 400, which was a season best.

The team of Richard Gould, Drew Mackin, Michell Kelly and Miles Perkins wan a 3:36 in that event, finishing sixth overall.

Andrew Mackin finished second in the 800 with a time of 1:57, which is an indoor personal best and ranks him in the top 20 in Division III. He also ran the fastest 4x4  split of the day, clocking a 52.1.

The DMR team of Luke Schlegel, Nolan Davis, James Hartop and Joe Iuliucci finished sixth overall in the event with a time of 11:33.68. Iuliucci anchored the team with a 4:48 mile, and later in the night, finished with a  personal best in the 3k at 9:41.

Evan Shea finished fourth in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.7, a season best and ranked second best in the conference.
