Men's track takes fourth at championships

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Ursinus men's track team finished in fourth place with a total score of 91 points in the Centennial Conference Outdoor Championships this weekend at Swarthmore College.

In the 200-meter dash, freshman Patrick Mekongo finished in third place with a time of 22.2

For the 800-meter dash, sophomore Andrew Mackin finished in fifth place recording a time of 1:55.09.

Junior Evan Shea took the gold in the 110-meter hurdles in a tight race with a time of 15. 21, while sophomore Erich Keyser finished in third place with at tine of 15.83.

Shea also finished in the top eight in the high jump with a sixth place finish at 1.80 meters or 5-10.75.

Keyser also finished in first place for the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.49 and Ursinus senior Chris Flood finished in third in the event recording a time of 58.93, finally Shea finished in fourth with a time of 59.42.

Darius Jones finished in third place among high jumpers with a height of 1.9 meters or 6-2.75, fourth place in the 400-meter dash at 49.88, and sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.86.

Ursinus took fourth in the 4X100 at 43.2 and eighth in the 4x400 at 3:33.32 .

Junior Marquis Wilson finished in first place in the shot put with a distance of 14.62 meters or 47-11.7. Wilson also finished in third place in the Javelin throw at 58.89 meters or 193-02.

Senior Brian Clancy also placed in fifth for the shot put with a throw of 12.64 meters or 41-05.75.

The men's track team will finish their season at the Tuppany Twilight meet on May 12th.
