Men's Track and Field first at Grizzly Invite

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – In their lone home meet of the season, the Ursinus College men's track and field team finished with a total team score of 289 points at the Grizzly Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

The Bears took the top three spots in most events on the day.

In the 100 meters, Skyler McCormick won the event with a time of 11.72.

In the 200, Patrick Mekongo won the event at 22.36, while McCormick was second at 23.15 and Anthony Sierzega was third at 23.32.

In the 400, Darius Jones won the event at 49.35, while Sierzega was second at 50.88.

Nolan Davis won the 800 run at 2:04.41, while Andrew Simoncini was second at 2:21.18.

In the 1500, Charles Wacker was first at 4:19.97, followed by Luke Schlegel was second at 4:27.46 and Grant McPherson was third at 4:29.94.

In the 5k, David Slade was second at 17:15.81 and James Hartop third at 17:25.03.

In the 110 hurdles, Evan Shea was first at 15.86, while Erich Keyser was second at 16.67 and Joseph Murray in third at 20.22.

In the 400 hurdles, Keyser was first at 55.93, Chris Flood was second at 59.98 and Shea was third at 1:11.13.

Ursinus won the 4x1 relay at 43.54.

In the high jump, Darius Jones was first at six feet, while Shea was second.

In the shot put, Marquis Wilson was first at 43.09.25, followed by Brian Clancy was second at 40-09 and Lucas Bricker third at 28-03.75.

Wilson was first in the discus at 111-07 and the javelin at 166-08. Bricker was second in the discus at 84-02, while Dave Carr was third at 75-00.

In the javelin, Thomas Donnelly was second at 150-03.
