Men's Track and Field fifth at Centennial Championships

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's track and field team finished fifth at the 2014 Centennial Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday, finishing the two-day event with a score of 62 points.

Junior Darius Jones had a stand out day, as he finished first in the high jump clearing a height of 6-04.75.He also took second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.83 and was eighth in the 200 meter with a time of 23.56.

He was part of two third place relays as well, as he teamed up with Skyler McCormick, Anthony Sierzega and Erich Keyser to take third in the 4x2 relay at 1:33.31. In the 4x4 relay, Jones teamed up with McCormick, Keyser and Richard Schulz to go third with a time of 3:29.06.

Keyser would finish second in the 60 hurdles at 8.71, improving from his premlinary time of 8.80.

Junior Marquis Wilson was second in the shot put at 46-03.25.

Senior Brian Clancy took fourth in the shot put at 43-5 feet.

Junior Evan Shea was fifth in the high jump at 5-10.75

Junior Joseph Murray was sixth in the heptathlon with a total score of 2921, while sophomore Andrew Mackin was seventh in the 800 at 1:59.95.

The team of sophomore Vincent Flood, senior Ian Wiggins, sophomore Nolan Davis and sophomore David Slade were eighth in the distance medley relay at 11:14.52.

Johns Hopkins won the team title with a score of 204 points, while Haverford was second at 138 points.
