Men's Track travels to Penn Relays/West Chester

With one week to go before Centennial Conference Championships, the Ursinus College men's track and field team competed in two meets this past weekend.

On Thursday/Friday, the Bears ran at the historic Penn Relays while taking to West Chester Friday afternoon to compete in the non-scoring West Chester Open.

At Franklin Field, the Bears finished second in the 4x4 Pop Haddleton MAC/Centennial with a time of 3:22.55. The team was made up of Jordan Grannum, Ian Wiggins, Richard Schulz and Darius Jones.

The team of Grannum, Joey Brodsky, Erich Keyser and Jones was the highest placing Centennial squad in the multi-heat 4x1 with a time of 43.45.

At West Chester, Amos Almy clocked a 16:39.15 in the 5k for a second place finish, while Jason Rudich was fifth at 17:38.72.

In the 1500, Andrew Mackin was second at 4:15.09, with Sam Stortz in third at 4:15.97.

Evan Shea was second in the 110 hurdles at 16.20.

In the 200, Anthony Sierzega was fourth at 23.83.

In the field events, Shea was fifth in the high jump at 1.80 meters, while Anthony Nienius was fifth at 5.68 meters. Nienius was also fourth in the triple jump at 11.41 meters.

Brett Smyers was fifth in the shot put at 12.90 meters.
