GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Ursinus College track and field teams started their weekend off early with a trip to the Gwynedd-Mercy Mid-Week Twilight Invitational on Thursday evening.

The men saw senior Andrew Carr finish first in the shot put at 47-1.

Freshman Evan Shea was second in the 110 hurdles at 15.86, while finishing sixth in the high jump at 5-10.50.

Senior Lance Jones was second in the high jump at 6-00.50, with a fifth place finish in the javelin at 157-01.

Freshman Anthony Nienius was third in the triple jump at 40-08.25.

In the 200 meters, senior Al Desiderio was seventh at 23.08, followed by freshman Richard Schulz in eighth in the 400 meters at 51.83.

Sophomore Chris Flood was seventh in the 110 hurdles at 18.02, followed by freshman Joseph Murray eighth in the event at 19.09.

In the shot put, Brian Conklin was fourth at 41-08.50 while senior Robert Shuttle was in eighth at 37-8.

Finally, junior Brett Smyers was eighth at 103-01 in the discus.
